Bill's Impact on AYSO1079

Bill Berliner made an extraordinary impact on AYSO1079 as Treasurer, even though he did not have children playing in the organization. His unwavering commitment and passion for the league were evident in his constant presence and willingness to help wherever needed. Bill was always available, whether it was managing finances, offering a hand at events, or simply driving the golf cart around the fields with a huge smile on his face. His enthusiasm was infectious, and he became a beloved figure within the community, embodying the spirit of volunteerism and dedication that AYSO1079 stands for.

In recognition of his remarkable contributions and the legacy he left behind, AYSO1079 dedicated their Fall Tournament in his honor, renaming it the Bill Berliner Memorial Cup Fall Tournament. This tournament not only celebrates the sport that Bill loved but also serves as a tribute to the joy, generosity, and tireless effort he brought to the organization. His name now stands as a symbol of the selflessness and passion that continue to inspire all who participate in AYSO1079.

Volunteer Point System (VPS)

To participate in the end of season single elimination round tournament, teams must quality with a minimum number of Volunteer Points (VPs).

For the Tournament, the minimum number per team is 15 points to qualify for the tournament.

The purpose of our Volunteer Point System (VPS) is to have more people chipping in with smaller tasks, rather than having just a few volunteers trying to manage everything alone. Your team's volunteer participation can earn playoff eligibility!   Teams which do not correctly report the points or earn the minimum number of 15 points will not be able to participate in the tournament.

Volunteer Point System (VPS)

All parents/guardians are encouraged to get involved.
Multiple volunteers per family is acceptable, allowing multiple points earned per family.
Volunteer points cannot be donated.
It is up to each team to report all volunteers.

Points can be attained through the following:
Welcome Tent Volunteer, 1 hour=1 point
Serving as the
center or sideline referee during a game, 1 game=2 points
Field Prep, including setting up and taking down the goal, 1 game=2 points
Volunteering as the Team Parent, 1 season=2 points
Volunteering as a Head Coach, 1 season=3 points
Volunteering for the AYSO1079 Board, 1 season = 3 points

Tournament Seeding

The number of volunteer points your team has earned and reported will determine your seeding in the Bill Berliner Memorial Cup Fall Tournament.
